Seasonal Camping Is Back May Through September
Enjoy the ocean views and stunning sunrises! Forbidden Plateau Campground and RV Park is a 5 acre campground located on the site of the original 1930s Forbidden Plateau Ski Resort. This campground is awesome for those who want to take an adventurous hike for hours (or days) or take advantage of the epic mountain biking enhanced with our mountain bike shuttles. We will shuttle you to Barbers Hole parking lot, so you can enjoy a swim at the oasis of Barber Hole, or mesmerizing Nymph Falls! Feels so great after an exciting bike down the mountain. Amazing hikes all around! Hike to Mount Beecher and more, right from the property! Relax and detox at the end of the day in our electric sauna with a view. Less than a km from old ski hill, tracks, lifts, that were abandoned in the 90s. now the main trailhead from which you can hike for weeks into Strathcona Park!
The only campground with access to various hiking, mountain biking and snow shoeing. The site has so many options for people who enjoy and love the outdoors.
Ice, wood, snacks, supplies, and more available on site. Only 20 minutes from Courtenay, British Columbia and with such rich history, beautiful scenery, the multiple legends of Forbidden Plateau and memories of the Forbidden Plateau Ski Resort the resort attracts the young and old alike.

Enjoy the six person electric sauna with cold shower or cold plunge for detox and deep talks after you hit the trails!
Stunning Oasis
Use our bike shuttle to enjoy the legendary mountain biking trails, finish off at barbers swimming hole for a dip in a stunning oasis. It feels amazing after a long ride!

Our overall goal is to keep the natural beauty and enhance it by maintaining and keeping it clean. We want to keep the history of this place alive and tell the stories and legends to everyone who visits. We are so amazed at the history of this location and have fallen in love with the opportunity to share it with all the visitors.
